Your Google Business Profile is the listing people see when they search for your business on Google Search and Maps: hours, address, photos, reviews and posts. When someone asks an AI platform for the best option near them, that listing also decides whether you get named, so a complete and active profile matters for AI visibility as much as for Google.
The Business Profile page (/gbp, under Explorer > Search in the sidebar) connects to your profile through your Google account and lets you manage it without leaving Rank Prompt.
The page walks you through three steps: Connect Google, Business Profile access and Link a location.
Open Business Profile in the sidebar and click Connect Google. On Google's consent screen, grant the Business Profile permission. If Google is already connected for Google Analytics or Search Console, those stay connected: Google keeps what you granted before.
If you skipped the permission, the page says so. Reconnect Google and grant it. To connect a different Google account, disconnect Google in Integrations first.
Once Google is connected with Business Profile access, click Open Google settings on the Business Profile page, pick your Business Profile account and select the locations to link to this brand.
Once a location is linked, the six tabs open.
Tip: Only brand owners and editors can connect Google, link locations and change the profile. Viewers see the data and can ask an owner or editor to connect.
Your listing as Google shows it, with a Completeness score (a fuller profile helps you show up in local and AI results) and a status per field: Good, Improve or Missing.
You can edit these fields and the change goes straight to Google:
Description (up to 750 characters; the page lists the top search keywords missing from it)
Phone and Website
Categories (primary and additional)
Hours
Services
Highlights (the attributes behind Google's "Find places that..." filters, such as accessibility and payments)
The address is edited on Google (Edit on Google). Some listings lock the description: the field then reads Managed by Google. Copy review link copies the link that asks a customer for a Google review.
Optimize Profile with AI suggests a new description, additional categories, services and an hours recommendation. See AI content for Google Business Profile.
Performance from Google for the date range you pick in the header (the last 30 days by default):
Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
Business Profile Performance | Total impressions, Website clicks, Calls, Directions, Bookings, Conversations and Food orders |
Impressions by surface & device | Where your profile shows up: Maps or Search, on mobile or desktop |
Business Profile search keywords | The keywords people used to find you on Google Maps and Search, for the latest month Google reports |
A keyword that also brings organic clicks in Search Console carries an Also in search badge (Search Console must be connected). Scan area on a keyword opens a geo-grid scan for it.
Google reports with a delay of about three days, and a new profile takes a few days to show data. Below a small threshold Google hides exact counts for privacy.
Your published and scheduled Google posts. New post writes one by hand, Create with AI drafts one for you, and Bulk schedule with AI writes a batch and queues it on a cadence. A post can be Standard, Offer or Event, with a call to action and up to 10 photos. Leave the schedule empty to publish now, or pick a time and it publishes on its own. The Scheduled posts list lets you edit or cancel a post before it goes out.
Every Google review of the location, filtered by stars and by Replied or Unreplied. Reply by hand, draft a reply with AI reply, or draft replies for the unreplied reviews in one go with Generate all replies. You can delete a reply later. See AI content for Google Business Profile.
The photos on your listing. Add photo takes an image from your library, an upload or a URL, and asks for a category. Cover, Logo and Profile replace those slots on your profile; every other category goes to your photo gallery. Delete a photo to remove it from Google.
Where your business ranks in the Google Maps local pack for a keyword, from a grid of points around your location. See Geo grid: local rank tracking.
Action | Credits |
|---|---|
AI post draft (each post in a bulk schedule too) | 1 |
AI review reply (each reply in Generate all replies too) | 1 |
Optimize Profile with AI (each generate or regenerate) | 1 |
Geo-grid scan | 1 per 16 points: 3x3 = 1, 5x5 = 2, 7x7 = 4 |
Viewing the profile, insights, posts, reviews and photos is free, and so is publishing, editing or deleting a post, a reply or a photo. For every other cost, see Understanding credits.
If your Google account manages several locations, link more than one to the same brand. When a brand has more than one, a location selector appears in the page header and every tab follows the selected location.
Manage in the header opens Manage locations: link, remove, or set a primary location. If a linked location is removed or unverified on Google, the page says This location is no longer available on Google and asks you to re-link it.
Ask agent in the header opens the agent with what is on your screen. It can list your linked locations and your scheduled posts, and schedule a post for you.
Business Profile is on every paid plan (Starter and up), including the free trial. On the Free plan the page offers the plan that includes it and the free trial. The plan that counts is the one of the brand's owner. See Plans and pricing.
