AI visibility overview

The Visibility pages at a glance: what the Overview shows, how the shared filters work, and which page to open to see how AI platforms name your brand.

The AI visibility page (Visibility > Overview in the sidebar) shows how often AI answers name your brand, how that changes over time, and where, by category and by AI platform. It reads the answers of the reports you pick from all six AI platforms Rank Prompt tracks on every plan: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, Perplexity and Google AI Mode (AI Overviews). Older reports keep the AI platforms they ran on.

The Visibility pages

The Visibility group in the sidebar holds the pages that read your answers:

Page

What it answers

Overview

How visible am I, on which AI platforms and in which categories?

Prompts

Which prompts name my brand, which miss it, and what did the AI platforms answer?

Trends

How did my visibility move across the runs of a Scheduled Report?

Fan-outs

What did the AI platforms search on the web before answering my prompts?

Competitors

Who does AI name instead of me, and what is my share of voice?

Brand Audit

How do AI platforms describe my brand?

Under Reports in the same group: Reports (every report you ran), Scheduled Reports, Client reports and Shares.

The filters

A filter bar at the top of the page applies to everything on it:

Filter

What it does

Reports

Pick the reports to read. The Scheduled tab lists your Scheduled Reports, with their locations and runs; the Individual tab lists the reports you ran on your own. Select all and Clear are at the top.

Category

Only the prompts of one category (All categories by default)

AI platform

Only the answers of one AI platform (All platforms by default)

Date range

Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, All time or a Custom range

On your first visit, the filter picks the latest runs of your newest Scheduled Report or, if you have none, all your completed reports. The same filters apply on the other Visibility pages and on Sources and Outreach, so you keep your selection as you move around.

Views saves the current filters under a name so you can come back to them, and Ask agent opens the agent with this page in view.

Tip: Combine filters. For example: ChatGPT only, the "Pricing" category, the last 30 days.

What the Overview shows

Movers

When the filters hold 2 reports or more, a strip at the top compares the newer half of the reports with the older half:

  • Prompts gained: prompt and AI platform pairs that name your brand now and didn't before

  • Prompts lost: pairs that named you before and don't now

  • New citing domains: sites the answers cite now and didn't before

  • The AI platform with the biggest swing in visibility

The summary

A short card reads your score in plain words, for example "HubSpot is named in 18% of AI answers (Emerging)", with a next step. Close it with the X if you don't need it.

Visibility by platform

Your Visibility score on each AI platform, with its change between the older and the newer half of the period when the reports span several days. This is where you find the AI platform to work on first.

Visibility score

The main number: out of every AI answer collected in these reports, the share that named your brand. Under it, how many answers named you out of the total. Hover the help icon for what your tier means. See Understanding your visibility score.

Visibility trend over time

Shown when you read more than one report: your score over time, Overall, By platform or By category.

  • Rising line: your work is paying off

  • Flat line: stable, no growth

  • Falling line: something changed; look at the prompts and competitors

Visibility by category

Your score in each prompt category. Work first on the weak categories that hold many prompts.

Answer position

Where your brand sits when an answer names it: First, Top-3, Mid (4th to 10th), Tail (past 10th, or a passing mention) or Not named. Being named first draws more attention than a passing mention.

By platform

Every prompt against every AI platform: Yes (with your place, when there is one), No, or N/A when the prompt didn't run on that AI platform. Turn on Only named to keep the prompts that name you on at least one AI platform, and Keywords to see the Google keyword each prompt stands for and its difficulty.

Which page to open

Question

Go to

"How visible is my brand overall?"

Overview

"Which prompts miss my brand?"

Prompts

"Am I improving run after run?"

Trends

"What did the AI platforms search before answering?"

Fan-outs

"Who is named instead of me?"

Competitors

"Which sites do the answers cite?"

Sources > Citations

Fan-outs

Before they answer, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity often search the web. Visibility > Fan-outs lists those searches, most frequent first, next to the People also ask questions Google shows for your tracked keywords. From any row you can Add as prompt, Track as keyword or Create content. Google AI Mode (AI Overviews) doesn't report the searches it runs, so it has no fan-outs.

No data?

  • No reports yet: create your first report (the page offers Create your first report)

  • No reports selected: pick one or more reports in the Reports filter

  • Wrong brand: check which brand is selected in the brand switcher

  • Filters too narrow: widen the date range or pick more reports

A routine that works

Every week

  1. Open Visibility > Overview and read the summary and Movers

  2. Check Visibility by platform for an AI platform that dropped

  3. Open Prompts for new prompts that miss your brand

Every month

  1. Set the date range to the last 30 days

  2. Review Competitors for changes in share of voice

  3. Check Trends for the direction of each Scheduled Report

  4. Export what you need for your reporting

After publishing content

  1. Wait a week or two

  2. Let your Scheduled Report run, or run a new report

  3. Compare the before and after on Trends or with Compare in the Scheduled Report's History tab

  4. Note which prompts improved
