The Competitors tab shows you who else is appearing in AI responses for your prompts. Understanding your competition is crucial for improving your visibility.
The Competitors tab displays a ranked table of all businesses mentioned in AI responses:

Prompts | Where they ranked vs missed |

Actions | Compare with your brand |
Rank Prompt automatically categorizes businesses mentioned in AI responses:
Your BrandYour brand appears in the list too (highlighted). This shows how you stack up against everyone else.
Direct CompetitorsBusinesses offering similar products/services to the same target market.
Example: If you're Salesforce, HubSpot is a direct competitor
Why it matters: These are your main competition for the same customers
Indirect CompetitorsBusinesses in related spaces that could substitute for you.
Example: If you're Asana, Notion is an indirect competitor
Why it matters: Users might choose them as alternatives
AI PlatformsAI tools and platforms mentioned in responses.
Example: ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot
Why it matters: Understanding AI self-reference patterns
PublishersMedia outlets, blogs, and content sites.
Example: TechCrunch, Forbes, Wirecutter
Why it matters: These are often cited as sources, potential backlink opportunities
OtherBusinesses that don't fit other categories.
Use the dropdown filter to focus on specific types:

Tip: Use "Competitors Only" for competitive analysis, "Publishers" for backlink opportunities.
The Prompts column shows two numbers:

Green (Ranked): Prompts where they appeared
Red (Missed): Prompts where they didn't appear
Click either number to see the specific prompts:

Focus on competitors who:
Rank for more prompts than you
Appear on prompts where you're missing
Are gaining mentions over time
Look for prompts where:
You rank but top competitor doesn't
Neither of you ranks (opportunity!)
You rank higher (maintain this)
For top competitors, research:
What content are they creating?
Where are they getting backlinks?
How do they position themselves?
