Explorer: find prompts and keywords to track

Find the prompts and keywords worth tracking: the Google searches your site already shows up for, research from a keyword or a page, and what your competitors win in AI answers and in Google.

Your reports only measure the prompts you track. Explorer finds the next ones: what people already search to reach you, what a keyword or a page opens up, and where your competitors win and you do not. Every row says whether you already track it, and one click tracks it as a prompt or as a Google keyword.

Open Explorer in the sidebar. It has three pages:

Page

What it finds

Your Google demand

Every search your site already shows up for in Google, one row per query

Research

New keywords from a keyword, or the prompts a page answers from its URL

What competitors win

The prompts AI answers give your competitors and not you, and the keywords they rank for in Google and you do not

The same group also holds your Google side under Search: Website analytics, AI traffic, Keywords, Site health and Business Profile.

Your Google demand

Every query people find your site with in Google. It joins two sources:

  • Search Console: the queries your site got clicks and impressions for, read at no cost once Search Console is connected

  • The rankings: every keyword your domain ranks for in Google's top 100, with volume and difficulty

Either one fills the page; with both, each query joins the two. The Source column says where a query comes from. Search the queries or pick a slice: Striking distance holds the ones just off the top of page one, Zero-click the ones that show and get no click, often questions AI answers instead of sending the visit. Click a Search Console query for its history.

The rankings are kept for a week. Loading or refreshing them costs 1 credit, and the button shows the cost before you spend it.

Research

One input for both kinds of research. Type a keyword or paste a page URL, and the page tells which one it is; when a text could be either, the hint under the input switches it.

  • A keyword returns new keywords with volume, difficulty and intent. Pick the kind of ideas: Keyword ideas, Long tail, Exact phrase or Related searches.

  • A page URL, yours or a competitor's, returns the prompts people ask about what it offers. Pick the country and the intent: Organic for people learning and comparing, Commercial for people about to choose or buy.

Each run costs 1 credit. The same keyword in the same market, or the same page, is free again for 24 hours, and a page address that does not open costs nothing.

What competitors win

Two tabs, both against the competitors your reports found:

  • In AI answers: the prompts whose answers name a competitor and not your brand, read from your reports at no cost. Won by shows who AI named instead of you, Lost counts those answers and Yours the answers that name you. Start with the prompts you lose most.

  • In Google: the keyword gap, the keywords a competitor ranks for in Google's top 20 and your site does not. Pick the competitors to compare and click Load gap: 1 credit per 5 competitors, kept for a week. Create content on a row writes the page that targets it, and See the opportunities sends the gap to Content > Opportunities.

Tracking what you find

Every row has a Tracked mark and a menu to track it:

  • As a prompt: it is asked to every AI platform in a Scheduled Report, so you see the day answers start naming you

  • As a keyword: it joins Explorer > Keywords with rank checks in Google

Tick several rows to track them in one go. Tracking costs nothing by itself; the reports and rank checks that follow are priced in Understanding credits.

Explorer is on every plan. Owners and editors run research and track rows; viewers read the pages.
