Bing Webmaster Tools connection

Connect Bing Webmaster Tools to see your Bing search traffic next to Google, and upload its AI Performance exports to see the pages Microsoft Copilot cites from your site.

Bing Webmaster Tools reports how your pages do in Bing search, which also feeds Microsoft Copilot. Connected to Rank Prompt, it adds Bing to Website analytics, and its AI Performance exports show the pages Copilot cites. It is free on every plan.

Connecting

  1. Open Integrations > Measure & track and click Connect on the Bing Webmaster Tools card, or click Connect Bing on Website analytics > Bing

  2. Sign in with the Microsoft account that has your site in Bing Webmaster Tools and allow read access

  3. Rank Prompt picks the site that matches the brand's website; if the account has several, choose one under Site on the card, or with Pick a site right on Website analytics > Bing

Owners and editors can connect. The access is read-only.

Copilot citations

Bing shows AI Performance in Bing Webmaster Tools but does not share it through its API, so you upload it:

  1. In Rank Prompt, open Website analytics > Copilot citations and click Open AI Performance in Bing: it opens the report for your site in Bing Webmaster Tools

  2. Export its three CSV files there: the overview, the grounding queries and the cited pages. Back in Rank Prompt, click Upload exports

  3. Drop the files. The queries and pages files do not say their dates: pick the period you exported, or upload the overview with them and its dates are used

One upload takes up to three files, 5 MB each and 9 MB together. Uploading the same file for the same period again replaces the earlier one. Uploaded exports lists every upload; delete one there.

Bing updates its search numbers daily and its query and page data weekly. Rank Prompt reads them again every six hours.

Troubleshooting

  • Bing Webmaster Tools needs to be reconnected: Bing stopped accepting the saved sign-in; click Reconnect on the card with the same Microsoft account

  • This site is not in the connected Bing Webmaster Tools account: add and verify the site in Bing Webmaster Tools, or reconnect with the account that has it

  • Bing does not write the period in the queries and pages files: pick the first and last day you exported, or upload the overview file in the same upload

  • A file is not a Bing AI Performance export: upload the CSV files as Bing exports them, without editing their columns

Next steps
