Using the Article Editor

After your article is generated, you can edit and refine it using RankPrompt's built-in article editor. The editor provides professional editing tools while preserving your content's SEO optimization.

Edit Tab

The main editing view where you can modify your article content:

• Full rich text editing capabilities

• Real-time auto-save indicator

• Click anywhere to start editing

Preview Tab

• See how your article will appear when published:

• Read-only view

• Formatted exactly as it will publish

• Check layout and images

Mobile Tabs (on smaller screens)

On mobile devices, additional tabs appear:

• ToC: Table of contents

• Details: Article metadata

• AI: AI enhancement tools

Editing Your Content

Rich Text Features

The editor supports full rich text formatting:

Save Your Changes

Changes are tracked automatically. When you make edits:

1. A "Save Changes" button appears in the header

2. Click to save your modifications

3. Preview updates to show saved content

Table of Contents

• Automatically generated from your article headings:

• Shows all H1, H2, H3 headings

• Click any heading to jump to that section

• Updates as you edit

How to Edit Details

1. Click the Details section in the sidebar

2. Update any field

3. Changes apply automatically

Featured Image

• Your article includes AI-generated images:

• Hero Image: Automatically set as featured

• Change Image: Upload a different image or select another generated one

• Alt Text: Update accessibility text

AI Enhancement Tools

Access AI tools to improve your content:

Available AI Features

Using AI Tools

1. Select text you want to improve

2. Open the AI section in the sidebar

3. Choose the enhancement you want

4. Review and accept or reject changes

Article Statuses

Needs Review

• After generation, your article starts in "Needs Review" status:

• Content is ready for editing

• Make any changes before publishing

• No time limit to review

Published

• Once you publish to a platform:

• Status changes to "Published"

• You can still edit and republish

• "Update Article" button replaces "Publish"

Failed

• If generation encounters an error:

• Shows error message

• "Retry Generation" button available

• No additional credits charged for retry

Publishing Actions

When Ready to Publish

1. Review your content in Preview tab

2. Check details (tags, meta description, featured image)

3. Click Publish when ready

If No Blog Connected

If you haven't set up a publishing target:

• Message prompts you to set up integrations

• Link to Integrations page

• Connect WordPress or set up hosted blog first

Multiple Publish Targets

• If you have multiple blogs connected:

• A modal appears to select destination

• Choose WordPress site or hosted blog

• Publish to one or multiple targets

Setting Review Reminders

For published articles, you can set reminders to review performance:

1. Click the bell icon or "Set Review Reminder"

2. Choose a reminder date

3. You'll receive a notification when it's time to review

Why Set Reminders?

• Check article performance after 2-4 weeks

• Update content if needed

• Ensure information stays current

Best Practices

Before Publishing

1. Read through entirely - AI content is good but benefits from human review

2. Check facts - Verify any statistics or claims

3. Add your voice - Make it sound like your brand

4. Optimize images - Ensure alt text is descriptive

After Publishing

1. Monitor performance - Check analytics after 2-4 weeks

2. Update as needed - Keep content fresh

3. Interlink - Add links to other relevant content
