Sources in the sidebar groups every page about what AI answers cite for your prompts: Citations, Offsite mentions, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, Forums, Domains, Authors and Tracked pages. They replace the old Citations tab of the AI visibility page.
New to the words? Start with What are citations?
Every Sources page uses the same filter bar as the Visibility pages:
Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
Reports | Pick one-off reports, or every run of a Scheduled Report |
Category | Only the prompts of one category |
AI platform | Only the answers of one AI platform |
Date range | Only answers given in that window |
The filters live in the page address, so a link you share opens with the same view. Views saves the current filters to apply later, and Ask agent asks the agent about what is on your screen.
Page | Plan |
|---|---|
Citations, Domains | Every plan |
Offsite mentions, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, Forums, Authors, Tracked pages | Starter and up |
The plan that counts is the brand owner's, so a teammate sees what the owner's plan includes.
Sources > Citations shows the sources AI answers cite for your prompts, and your share of them. It has three tabs.
Block | What it shows |
|---|---|
Top cited domains | The domains answers cite most, Over time or as a ranking (Top domains). Your site is marked with its place, or "You, not cited" |
Citation share | Each domain's share of all citations, and its change from the first half of the period to the second. Click a domain to see only its pages |
Citations by kind of source | A bar of what the citations are made of: Owned, Competitor, Reddit, News & editorial, Reviews & directory and more. Click one or more chips to filter the table |
Cited pages | Every page the answers cited, with its share, position and your work on it. See Using the cited pages table |
Pick up to 6 URLs from Cited URLs to compare them over time, by Position (where the URL lands in the answers' source lists; 1 is the first source) or by Rate (the share of the answers that cited it).
Two charts, per week: Citation rate by kind of content (blog posts, listicles, reviews, docs and more) and Citation rate by kind of source. Each line is the share of the answers that cited at least one page of that kind.
Your Citation share is the share of all citations that point at your own site: the brand's website and its subdomains. When the website is a page on a shared platform (an Etsy shop, a YouTube channel), only that page and what sits under it count. A brand with no website has no Citation share.
You see it on a report's score card and in the Citation share widget on Home. On Sources > Citations, choose the Owned chip to see only your own pages.
Sources > Domains rolls the cited pages up by domain.
Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
Domain | The cited domain. Your own is marked Your site |
Source | Its kind of source |
Citations | How many times the answers cited it |
Trend | New, Rising, Stable, Falling or Lost, from the first half of the period to the second |
Change | Citations gained or lost from the first half to the second |
Names you | How many of its analyzed pages name you, or Not analyzed |
Links to you | Pages on the domain that link to your site |
Pages, Share and Avg. position are in Choose columns; Brands citing it and Cited overall (how the whole platform cites the domain) show in fullscreen. See pages opens Citations filtered to that domain's pages.
Sources > Offsite mentions lists the pages on other sites that AI cites, and whether they name you or your competitors. It is where you analyze pages and find outreach targets. See Offsite mentions.
One page per network, for the posts, videos and threads AI cites, and the communities behind them:
Page | Items | Groups |
|---|---|---|
Posts | Subreddits | |
YouTube | Videos (with views, likes and comments) | Channels |
Posts, articles, company pages and profiles | Authors | |
Forums | Quora, Stack Exchange and forum threads | Sites |
View switches between the items and the groups
A chart shows the top items over time; in the groups view each row has its Trend, citations per week
On LinkedIn, Type narrows to Posts, Articles, People, Companies or Other
Click a group to open it: its citations, Share of citations, citations per week and its items, with Open on the network
Show post opens a Reddit or LinkedIn post inside the app
When AI doesn't cite a network for your prompts, the page says so, explains which topics that network tends to show up for, and lists where your answers do cite.
Sources > Authors shows who wrote the pages AI answers cite: each author with their sites, pages, citations, prompts and last citation, and a button to email them when an address is known.
An author appears once a page names one, or once the page was analyzed or searched for contacts in Backlink outreach.
Sources > Tracked pages follows the pages you choose, yours or anyone's, with their AI platforms, citations, trend, change, position, prompts and last citation. Pages not cited under the filters show zero or Not cited yet.
Add pages: paste up to 100 URLs, one per line or separated by commas
Or track a page from its row in Citations
Stop tracking removes it
Open any report and its Sources tab shows the same view for that one run: top cited domains, each domain's share of the report's citations, the kinds of source and the cited pages. With one run there is nothing to compare, so Trend, Change and Reports don't show. Owners and editors can select cited pages and Create campaign to pitch them.
A report shared by link shows a simpler list of the sources, with how often each was cited.
Only reading a page tells whether it names your brand. Rank Prompt never guesses it from the URL or the title. Until a page is analyzed it shows Not analyzed, and it never counts as a page that doesn't name you.
Analyze reads the page once and returns its contacts, whether it links to your site, and every business it names. It costs 1 credit per 3 pages; your own pages and pages already analyzed are free. Run it from Offsite mentions or Outreach > Backlink outreach.
