Proper brand configuration is crucial for accurate tracking. This guide covers all the settings you should configure to get the most out of Rank Prompt.
Make sure you're on the correct brand (check the brand switcher)
Go to Brand → My Brand in the sidebar
Click "Edit Brand" to modify settings
Brand Settings are organized into tabs. The main Profile tab contains name, website, description, aliases, categories, and country/language. The Client tab (covered below) contains portal, contact, and tag settings.
The brand name is the primary identifier we search for in AI responses.
✅ Do | ❌ Don't |
|---|---|
Use official name | Use nicknames |
Match how customers know you | Use internal project names |
Update if company rebrands | Change frequently |
Good: "Salesforce", "HubSpot", "Rank Prompt"
Bad: "SF", "The Hub", "RP Tool"
💡 Use aliases for variations, not multiple different brand names.
Your website is used for:
Logo fetching — Automatically pulls your logo
Citation tracking — Identifies when AI cites your domain
Brand verification — Confirms your brand identity
Enter your primary domain with https://:
✅ https://rankprompt.com ✅ https://www.acme.com ❌ rankprompt.com (missing protocol) ❌ https://rankprompt.com/pricing (too specific)
Use your primary brand domain. If you have multiple domains, the primary one is usually enough—AI platforms typically cite the main domain.
The description helps when:
Generating prompts — AI understands your business context
Analyzing reports — Provides background for categorization
Content generation — Informs article topics
Write 3-5 paragraphs covering:
What your company does
Key products/services
Target audience
Unique value proposition
Rank Prompt is an AI visibility tracking platform that helps businesses understand how they appear in AI-generated responses from ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Mode, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and other engines we support.
We serve marketing teams, SEO professionals, and agencies who need to track and improve their brand's presence in the growing AI search landscape.
Key features include automated visibility reports, competitor analysis, content generation, and backlink outreach.
The description field supports Markdown:
**bold** for emphasis
- bullets for lists
[links](url) for references
AI platforms might mention your brand differently than your official name:
Official Name | AI Might Say |
|---|---|
International Business Machines | IBM |
The Coca-Cola Company | Coca-Cola, Coke |
Rank Prompt | Rank Prompt, Rank-Prompt |
Without aliases, you'd miss these mentions!
In edit mode, find the Brand Aliases section
Type an alias in the input field
Press Enter or click "Add"
Repeat for all variations
Include:
Abbreviated versions (IBM, MSFT)
Common misspellings (Coca Cola vs Coca-Cola)
Product names used interchangeably
Acronyms customers use
Former names (if recently rebranded)
Don't include:
Generic industry terms
Competitor names
Unrelated keywords
Remove: Click the X on any alias pill
Reorder: Not necessary—all aliases are checked equally
Brand: "Microsoft Corporation"
Aliases:
Microsoft
MSFT
MS
Windows (if tracking Windows product)
Categories are industry/topic tags that help organize your prompts and analysis:
Examples: Software, CRM, Marketing, B2B, SaaS, Enterprise
Automatic discovery — When you run reports, we identify relevant categories
Manual addition — You can add your own
From content — Generated articles suggest categories
Add a category:

Press Enter or click "Add"
Remove a category:

Keep 5-10 relevant categories
Use industry-standard terms

Be specific but not too narrow

Too broad: "Technology", "Business"
Too narrow: "Enterprise CRM for Healthcare Companies"

Store contact details for the person or team receiving reports for this brand:
Client Name — The contact's full name
Client Email — Used for automated report delivery and outreach
Company — The client's company name
These fields populate automated email delivery and are visible to team members managing the brand.
Tags let you label brands for portfolio organization and filtering across all agency views.
To add a tag:
Go to Brand → My Brand → Client tab
Find the Brand Tags section
Type a tag name and press Enter or click "Add"
To remove a tag:
Click the X on any tag
Example tags: "Active", "Onboarding", "Paused", "E-commerce", "SaaS", "Tier 1"
