The Citations & Sources page gives you a complete view of all external websites that AI platforms reference when answering questions about your brand and industry.
Select your brand from the brand switcher
Go to Dashboard → Citations & Sources in the sidebar
The page has four main sections:
Filters — Refine what citations you see
Citation Share Chart — Visual breakdown of citation sources
Citation Leaderboard — Top cited domains
Citations Table — Detailed list of all citations
Select which reports to analyze:
Option | What It Shows |
All Reports | Citations from every completed report |
Specific Reports | Only citations from selected reports |
Scheduled Reports | Filter by schedule name |
Tip: Select specific reports when you want to compare results from different time periods or configurations.
Filter citations by prompt category:
All Categories — See everything
Specific Category — Focus on one industry topic
This helps you understand which sources AI cites for different types of questions.
Filter by which AI platform generated the citation:
All Platforms — Combined view
ChatGPT — Only ChatGPT citations
Perplexity — Only Perplexity citations
Google AI — Only Google AI Overview citations
Different platforms may cite different sources for the same topics.
Narrow down to a specific time period:
Use the date picker to set start and end dates
Useful for tracking citation changes over time
This visual chart shows how citations are distributed:
Your brand's share — Percentage of citations pointing to your domain
Competitor shares — How often competitors are cited
Other sources — Third-party sites, news, etc.
Color | Meaning |
Your Brand Color | Citations to your website |
Other Colors | Citations to other domains |
Your share is small? Focus on creating more citable content
One competitor dominates? Analyze what content they have that you don't
Many third-party sources? Potential PR/partnership opportunities
The leaderboard shows the most-cited domains in your reports:
Column | Description |
Rank | Position by citation frequency |
Domain | The website (with favicon) |
Count | Total citation appearances |
Share | Percentage of all citations |
Find your position — Where does your domain rank?
Identify leaders — Who's getting cited most?
Spot opportunities — Which domains could you outrank?
Your domain is highlighted when it appears in the leaderboard. If it's not showing, your site isn't being cited frequently enough.
You need to select at least one report to see citations.
Fix: Use the Report Selection filter to choose reports.
The selected reports don't contain any citations for your current filters.
Possible reasons:
AI responses didn't include sources
Filters are too restrictive
Reports are still processing
Fix: Try broadening your filters or selecting different reports.
You haven't run any visibility reports yet.
