Connecting Google Analytics 4 (GA4) brings your site's traffic into Website analytics and AI traffic, so you can see whether being named and cited by AI platforms turns into visits. It is free on every plan.
Open Integrations > Measure and track and click Connect Google on the Google services card (or connect from Website analytics)
Sign in with the Google account that can read your GA4 property and grant the Analytics permission on Google's consent screen

One Google connection covers Google Analytics, Search Console and Business Profile for the brand. Owners and editors can connect; viewers see the data.
If you skipped the Analytics permission, the card says so: use Reconnect Google and grant it. If no property shows up, the Google account you used cannot read one.
Website analytics (/analytics, under Explorer > Search): sessions, users, engagement and key events over time, traffic channels, devices, countries, landing pages and the AI traffic sources breakdown. With Search Console connected, the same page adds your Google searches.
AI traffic (/analytics/ai-traffic): the sessions, users and page views that arrive from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and other AI platforms, read from your GA4 property. It uses the same period as Website analytics.
Data syncs on its own; Refresh data pulls the latest. GA4 reports with a delay of a day or so.
Tip: Compare AI traffic with your Visibility score over the same weeks. A brand that gets named more should see more visits from those AI platforms.
The gear on the Google services card opens Google services settings: change the property and click Save, or click Reconnect or Disconnect at the bottom. Disconnecting stops new data; to switch Google accounts, disconnect first and connect again.

No AI traffic: GA4 records AI visits only when the AI platform passes a referrer, so some visits show as direct
