Looker Studio connector

Chart your AI visibility in Looker Studio: brands, reports with score, prompts and platforms, citations by domain, competitors and weekly moves, one template per client. Agency and Agency Plus.

The Rank Prompt connector for Looker Studio puts the numbers your reports carry into Looker Studio dashboards: Visibility scores, the prompts and engines that name the brand, the domains AI answers cite, competitors' share of voice and what moved each week. The fields carry the names the PDF reports and the weekly digest use, so a dashboard and a report always agree. It is part of Agency and Agency Plus, and reading spends no credits: each page of rows counts against the account's monthly API request allowance.

Connecting

  1. Open Integrations (in the sidebar under Brand), tab Measure and track. The Looker Studio card there links the connector, the API keys page and this article

  2. Create an API key: click Create an API key on the card (or open Settings, then API under Developers, tab API keys) and click Create key

  3. Give it the scopes read:brands, read:reports, read:citations and read:competitors (or read:all). Restrict it to one brand when the dashboard is for one client

  4. Copy the key. It is shown only once

  5. Open the Rank Prompt connector for Looker Studio (the Add button on the card opens it too) and click Authorize. Until Google finishes verifying the connector, Google may say it has not verified the app: click Advanced and continue to the connector

  6. Paste the key when Looker Studio asks for it

  7. Pick what to read, then the brand, and click Connect

The connector is not in Looker Studio's partner gallery yet, so searching for it under Create > Data source finds nothing: open it from the link above or from the card.

On an agency's own domain the card does not show, like the rest of the developer tools.

What you can read

Source

One row is

Brands

A brand of the account, with its newest score in the period

Reports with score

A completed report: one run in one market, with its score, prompts ranked and asked, and answers

Prompts and platforms

A prompt on one engine: its answers in the period, how many named the brand, that share and the average position

Citations by domain

A domain the answers cited in the period, with citations, pages and pages that link to the brand

Competitors

The brand, then each competitor, with mentions, share of voice and its change

Weekly moves

A line of the weekly digest: the score against its four week average, a prompt won or lost, a domain newly cited or lost, a competitor that moved

Every chart follows the report's date range control.

One template per client

Build the report once on one client's brand. For the next client, make a copy of the report, open Resource > Manage added data sources, edit each data source and pick that client's brand. A key restricted to one brand keeps each copy on its own client.

Troubleshooting

"Looker Studio needs the brand owner on Agency or Agency Plus"
The brand belongs to an account below Agency. Upgrade that account in Plans, or pick a brand of an Agency account.

"The Rank Prompt API key cannot read this source"
The key is missing a scope. Create a key with the four read scopes above, edit the data source and reconnect with it.

"The Rank Prompt API key is invalid, expired or revoked"
Create a new key, then in Looker Studio edit the data source, revoke its access and connect again with the new key.

"This period holds too many rows for one refresh"
Pick a shorter date range, or chart the Reports with score or Weekly moves source, which hold one row per run.
